Situated at the edge of the Sholayar forest, Athirapalli Falls join the Chalakkudy River after plummeting a drop of 80 feet. The Athirapalli Waterfalls in Trichur, Kerala, are often referred to as the Niagara Falls of India.

Athirapally water falls, kerala

Recently Mani Ratnams film Ravana was shooting at Athirapally forest area.
Athirappally Waterfalls is located 78 kms from Kochi (Cochin), located at the entrance to Sholayar ranges, this waterfall is a popular picnic spot. Affording to the onlookers, one of the most bewitching sights, Athirappally Falls is about 80 feet high and located in the forest area. Combined with the greenery, it infuses freshness into any tired soul. The Athirapally Falls join the Chalakkudy River after plummeting a drop of 80 feet.

How you enter Kuruva Island, Wayanad

Kuruva Island is a piece of forest land surround by the tributaries of river Kabini. Located in Wayanad disctrict, Kerala. Once the entrance fee is paid, you are taken by raft from the banks to the actual island itself.

KSU, AIYF march to disrupt self financing entrance exam

Entrance to Carmelia

We stayed in this resort for one night. I took this video on our way out of the entrance. I think it’s funny how they put in some Indian touches that may be focussed to non-Indian tourists (flute player) but I believe when we were there I was the only non-Indian there! Sorry for the shaky video!

Built by the Portuguese in A.D.1506 as residence of the Portuguese governor, Bishop house is the oldest Catholic Dioceses in India located near the Parade ground, Fort Kochi. A prominent heritage of Fort Kochi, it is characterised by large arches in Gothic Style and has circular garden path winding up to the main entrance. The building was acquired by Dome Jos Gomes Ferreira, the 27th Bishop of the Diocese of Cochin whose jurisdiction extended over Burma, Malaya and Ceylon in addition to India. Inside the Bishop’s house there is a parlour room with large walls. These walls are painted in bright colours-telling the arrival of Portuguese, the origin of Christianity in Kerala and the establishment of the Diocese. The Indo Portuguese Museum within the palace compound has some historically significant invaluable collections. There is also the dinning area, known as Dr. Mario Sorais Hall, senate hall, teak staircase, large attics, collection of Portuguese maps, small collection of antiques and the other historic materials preserved her
