Which entrance exams should I give for admission in any architectural college?

Posted by admin on June 19th, 2010 and filed under entrance exams | 2 Comments »

I have passed 11th n moving to 12th.
I want to get admission in an architectural college.
Is engineering different than architecture?
also, which entrance exams should i give to get admission?
I know about AIEEE and NATA… anything else?
how much do i have to score in AIEEE to get admission in arch, college?
I need all information about architecture.
please help.
thanx :)

Well, first, you should REALLY educate yourself on the differences considering you asked this question:

"Is engineering different than architecture?"

Yes, quite different. Do look into them both before making up your mind definitively.

As for your entrance exams, they will HELP, but I’ll tell you what helps MORE – a PORTFOLIO of some sort. Even non-architectural art. Something to show your artistic and creative side (which is much of the difference between engineering and architecture). Also in this portfolio should be any scholastic or architectural achievements, such as drawings you’ve made, models you’ve built, things you’ve designed. Some good essays detailing your philosophy of design will also help.

Keep in mind that while exams help prove what kind of an academic student you are, your portfolio and essays will help tell them the kind of DESIGNER you will be and convince them that you will excel as a student of architecture.

Oh, yes, and take some building / drafting classes in high school NOW. Over the summer, too, if possible. Enroll in extracurricular activities along these lines.

Good luck.

Are there any entrance exams to join Law College?

Posted by admin on June 16th, 2010 and filed under entrance exams | 1 Comment »

Now I am doing my HSC. I want to do Law. Are there any entrance exams to join Law College?

The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a half-day standardized test required for admission to LSAC-member law schools, most Canadian law schools, and many non–ABA–approved law schools. It provides a standard measure of acquired reading and verbal reasoning skills that law schools can use as one of several factors in assessing applicants. The test is administered four times a year at hundreds of locations around the world.

In the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and some other countries, the LSAT is administered on a Saturday, except in June, when it is generally administered on a Monday. For Saturday Sabbath observers, the test is also administered on the Monday following Saturday administrations.
Many law schools require that the LSAT be taken by December for admission the following fall. However, taking the test earlier—in June or October—is often advised.
Some schools place greater weight than others on the LSAT; most law schools do evaluate your full range of credentials.

Date of LSAT—India Examination: 24 May 2009

Last Date for Test Registration: 27 April 2009

When do Universities in the Philippines (such as AUF or UP) hold their Entrance Exams?

Posted by admin on June 8th, 2010 and filed under entrance exams | 2 Comments »

Hello everyone!
I am a high school student currently living away from the Philippines.
I was just curious when the entrance exams take place so I can go back and take it.
I am interested in knowing when AUF and UP hold their exams but any other university would be okay! Not very sure if all the universities have admission test at the same time period/month.

Any help would be appreciated!

at UP, exams are usually held in august but applications must be submitted by june. for the school year 2010-11, UPCAT results are already out.
