Im planning to buy a book that should prepare me in the incoming entrance exam for college so… what book did really help you to pass the entrance exam…
Im planning to apply in 1st: UP 2nd: la salle 3rd:UST
they suggested me to buy a reviewer so help me what should I buy
You guys are very lucky today. There are tons of UPCAT reviewers in National Bookstore. There are hundreds of UPCAT review centers everywhere nationwide. You only need to review once for UPCAT and that will be enough for LaSalle, Ateneo, UST and the others. BTW, the last item in the LaSalle test requires you to write an essay in perfect English (unless they gave up already).
Paying for the review and buying review materials does not guarantee passing. Attending review classes does not guarantee passing. Memorizing answers to the mock tests does not guarantee passing. Answering "B" to all questions will make you fail.
Back in my time, I had no review whatsoever and took entrance tests to UP, LaSalle, Ateneo and UST. Passed them all. There is no secret. Everything you learned, you learned in Kindergarten. Review starts in Grade 1.

I have no intention in asking what questions are to be asked, but mostly what topics are to be given. Like the human anatomy, parabolas, all about Shakespeare, biology, trigonometric functions and stuff.. So please help me, our college entrance exam is tomorrow, and I’m so pressured I can’t concentrate on what to study…
and if this is considered as cheating please tell me, I’ll delete this question right away..
Just get some sleep and don’t worry about studying at this late point. Research indicates that cramming the night before simply does more harm than good, so relax, watch a movie if you can’t sleep, and get a good night’s rest if you can.
Depending on the test (usually math, reading, writing), whatever you already know is what will pull you through, not what you can cram into an all-nighter.
You’ll be FINE!
I need a tutor for the regis high school entrance exam in new york. Any recommendations?
I would contact the Jesuit Mission on East 83rd street close to Madison Avenue. The Jesuit Mission is always a good direct resource for anything pertaining to the Jesuit community, especially at one of their local educational institutions. ( Regis, Xavier, Fordham Prep, and Loyola School.) I am sure they can connect you with a contact or a tutor, perhaps even a senior or alumnus from Regis. They are a connected community.
I commend you on your preparation work for Regis. It is truly the best academic high school in New York which means admission is tough. Xavier is your close second among the Catholic schools for boys.
Best of luck! I wish you well! There is nothing like a Jesuit education!

Since the cost of college has gone up so much in this country should we have "free college" for all of those who pass an entrance exam? It could be paid for a 3-1/2 %tax hike on the rich and a 1% hike on the rest? Is this too "Socialist" of an idea? The country with the most educated will be the number one country on earth, and right now we are failing! China, India and most of Europe provides their people with a college education. Why not America?
I would vote for it! i think are kids are saddled with debt by the time they finish school. Some owe as much as a mortgage when they are done! I am sure the typical response form the Republicans will be "NO" as they aren’t much on education anyway…it makes people think and Republicans cannot afford their base thinking.
I took the entrance exam and I thought it was ok. I’m not that worried about the writing portion, but I am worried about the math section because I am applying to AMST. I only got to answer 31 questions , however, I believe I answered almost all of them correctly. I have straight A+’s, good recommendations, and a good essay(I think), do I have a good chance of getting in? How do they grade the questions you left blank? Should I have guessed?
A correct answer is worth two points; an unanswered question is worth nothing; and a wrong answer loses half a point. Random guessing should give you one right answers for every four wrong answers. So guessing doesn’t matter.
