So my entrance exam essay for this school that I am applying for is asking for :
"In a short essay, please tell us what contribution you could bring to the school. You may want to include samples of your leadership, achademic achievements, service experiences and any special interests or hobbies."
What is a really good first sentence to start it off with?

The private school I will be attending has an entrance exam. How do I study? I am really scared I’ll do bad. If I don’t pass it will I still be able to go to that school?

Don’t worry! I had to do a few entrance exams and i was really worried. I am used to having the material i need for an exam so i can study it but i was wondering what to study for an entrance exam. Usually there is a short essay of composition about you, your family, or a certain event, my writing is not that good but don’t worry its very easy.
There is math for maths i kind of just a test from everything you already know. Sometimes there is vocabulary or comprehension most of it is common sense. So don’t start opening books and panicking just relax everything will be fine.
It is simply a few easy tests nothing more…
I hope i was able to help, I know how u feel right now.PS: I actually did one today to find out in which level french or Arabic i should go in. French i wasn’t worried (I’m good at it) and i went into the highest level. On the contrary I know nothing about arabic i thought i was gonna fail, but i went on to the average level. GOOD LUCK

The Sri Lanka College of Journalism held its Admittance Examination on the 13th of December 2009 for the New Intake Batch of 2010. 136 Students arrived for the Admittance Examination and it was held within a large tent constructed outdoors for the occasion. It was a large gathering of intelligent and bright students who were also interviewed orally after the written examination. The Parents who came with these students were taken around the College and shown the spots where their Children will be at work for the Next Year. They were extremely happy to see the surroundings. The SLCJ had a great number of Volunteers from the members of the Staff and the past students who came on a Sunday to give their assistance to make the occasion a huge success. The Selections are now being done to absorb into the College the brightest and best of these as future potential Journalists.
